Saturday morning and time to head home...

Our last morning in Kyoto, starting with one last great room service breakfast.

And one more look at the area around the hotel, before our 10:45AM taxi pickup.

Our just under four hour trek to Narita started with our 2h15m Nozomi service from Kyoto station to Tokyo station.

Very glad that our driver escorted into the station and to the correct track.  Since we had to make a connection, the electronic gates required both tickets before it would open the door for us.  Happy we had some extra time to figure that one out.

Same comfy seats and configuration as three days earlier.

"Fresh" towel to all newly boarding F pax.

And "First Class" beverage and snack service, for a fee.

On time arrival on track 17 at Tokyo Station.  Although I knew we were heading for tracks 3 and 4, crowds and lack of clear English signs made it 20 minute trek before we finally found the right correct Narita Express tracks.

Not quite as comfy as the Nozomki but still a pleasant ride to the bowels of Terminal 1.

Our first stop was the United Club, specifically the United Global First Lounge.  I'd been here last summer and was pleasantly surprised.

One level on the 4th floor is the huge Global First Lounge. Wow, this is a beautiful facility. This is actually United??

And still the same touches to remind me that it is United.

About 90 minutes before departure, we headed for the far away ANA First Class Lounge, located at the extreme end of the concourse near gates 45+. Nothing special, more like a nice Business Class Lounge.

Reasonably nice selections of serve yourself food options.  Embarrassed to say that I forgot to take pics.
But nice views...

We left the lounge at T-40 and were at the gate 2 minutes later, just as boarding had commenced.  Special Suites boarding lane and we were soon walking down our private jetway to heaven. ;)   Didn't take any new cabin pics tonight, as we had the same seats as the week earlier.

Looking across the aisle at 3A.

Meanwhile, back at 3CD.

Interesting that we had a completely new and much better amenity kit than on the outbound. Keepers for both of us.

Once in the air, more great Singapore service.  My first G&T of the night and the wonderful SQ satay.

Absolutely amazing, and almost as good as the Malaysia satay, which IMO is the best satay in the skies.

And a second serving.

Showtime.

We decided not to book the cook tonight but try the regular menu.

Today's wine list, same as last week.  Other than the Dom and Krug, a rather uninspiring selection.

I started with the smoked duck breast.  Good, not great.

The seafood chowder was excellent, even better with another round of Dom.

Delicious salad, tomato, mizuna, rucola and frisée with sesame soya dressing.

We both had the pan roasted prawns with spicy tomato sauce, asparagus and sautéed linguine with julienne vegetables.  Was excellent although just a little too spicy for my liking.  More Dom solved that.

Delicious mango cheesecake with lemon lime sorbet, with fruit salad and mango coulis.

Just so all four grandkids would now have one, I asked for another set of teddy bears.

After dinner, we both decided to sleep, Mrs. SFO in 3D while I moved over to 4A.  We both slept for nearly 6 hours, Mrs. SFO better than me in 4A which suffers from being too close to the galley and galley noise and FA chit-chat.  With a short 9 hour 10 minute flight tonight, neither of us were hungry and passed on breakfast.

Perfect landing at LAX and we were at our gate 10 minutes later.  The new TBIT is a huge improvement over the old one.

Lots of Global Entry kiosks and we were out in no time.

A short walk next door to T4 and with PreCheck, we were in the Admirals Club by 2PM.  Twenty minutes later, we headed for the Gate 44 bus gate and the luxurious bus ride to AA's remote Eagle terminal.

Major progress in the past couple of months.  Virtually all of the terminal has now been renovated.  Unfortunately, it still takes a crappy bus ride.  Pics from a few weeks ago.

With seemingly only the Admirals Club still under construction.

But we must be getting close as the Liquor Permit application has been posted. ^

Lunch

Seems like I've been on these LAX-DEN Eagle flights every week for last few months.  Despite being a regional jet, the 1-2 F seat is pretty comfortable.

And typically excellent service, although not so much today.

A few months ago, this flight had no meal service.  Now it does.  Not sure that is good news or bad news, especially today.  Choice of chicken salad or roast beef sandwich.  The sandwich was dry, gross, inedible.  Potato salad was tasty though.

Fortunately, I had assumed no meal and bought a couple of chicken wraps a the Natural Break outlet in the remote terminal just prior to boarding.

On time arrival back at DIA and we were home 40 minutes later.  What a great trip to Japan.  With some wonderful experiences and outstanding Singapore service.  Thanks everyone for following along and for all of your kind comments.
