SFO United International First Class Lounge

SFO United International First Class Lounge
September 2014

We arrived at SFO 30 minutes early and headed to the Global First Lounge to camp out until we could check-in for real this time at the Air China ticket counter.   We’re used to being here in the evening when it’s deserted prior to Lufthansa’s SFO-MUC flight.  Pretty crowded today with lots of UA departures.  This has always been one of my favorite US lounges.

It’s not Lufthansa or Singapore, but a very nice and selection of food and drink.  Too bad United doesn’t try to offer a better First Class product in the air.

United International First Lounge at SFO
December 29, 2011

Arguably the best domestic lounge offered by any US carrier.
With 9 pax, the lounge was busier than usual tonight as the LX SFO-ZRH flight was running nearly two hours late.

25 days later and still not fixed.

The usual array of left-overs from earlier in the day when UA had a gaggle of international flights.

G&T and some nibbles before our flight...

At T-35, the IFL dragon made an announcement for all LH pax to meet our LH rep upstairs.
Pleasant LH rep escorted the two of us to Gate 99, where unfortunately it was another 5 minutes before the crew was ready to board.

United International First Class Lounge SFO

This has to be one of the nicest US-based airline lounges I have visited. Pleasant and attractive dragon welcomed us in and gave us wi-fi access cards. Since it was in between UA departures, there were only two other people tonight, our cabin mates in 1DG.

The lounge is very attractive and much cleaner than the last time we were here. Even the food looked better tonight.

The beef was excellent and rare. Unfortunately, the shrimp was also a little rare.

Plane watching was very good tonight.

The IFL dragon announced "10 minutes to First Class boarding" as we gather our things and start to make our way to Gate 101.
