Italy

Italy
We slept in and pretty much relaxed in and enjoyed our suite on New Years Day.   Mrs. SFO777 was a little under the weather and opted to stay in pretty much all day, while I headed out to enjoy the sunny +12C/54F temps and head over to check out Trevi.
This morning we are off with Gianluca to the wonderful Borghese Gallery.
We met our hotel driver Momy and concierge booked guide GianLuca in the lobby at 9:30am and headed out to the Vatican Museums.   Long line of visitors waiting to buy tickets snaked down to and around the next via.    Fortunately, we had reserved tickets and were able to skip most of the queue.  Although, that didn't help with the throng that was inside.
After a lazy Saturday morning at the hotel, we check out around 11AM and Stefano was waiting to take us on a day tour to Chianti before dropping us off back at the airport this afternoon. Less than 30 minutes later, we were in beautiful Chianti wine country.
Our wonderful driver Stefano picked us up at 9:30AM and 40 minutes later we were in the Tuscan countryside at an outlet store like no other I have seen.   The Mall is home to outlets of the most exclusive designers in the world.   Our home for the next three hours...
Since we were only a few minutes away, we decided to head to Italy for lunch.  The A8/A10 has some pretty spectacular views. And 30 minutes later we are in more plebian San Remo on the Italian Riviera, where the contrast from the gltiz and glamour of Monaco is pretty dramatic.  From a harbor filled with 200' yachts to a harbor filled with 30'-40' boats.
