ORD American Admirals Club G (renovated)

ORD American Admirals Club G (renovated)
January 2015

Global Entry was our friend tonight as we were the only passengers at the Kiosks.  Despite thousands lined up to clear customs, we were at baggage claim 7 minutes after deplaning.  Fifteen minutes later our bag was one of the first onto the carousel and we dropped it at the United connection area a few minutes later.  We tooked the train to United's Terminal 1 only to be denied entrance to the United Club, as Swiss First to United domestic First apparently doesn't qualify.  No to worry, we walked 5 minutes to the lovely newly renovated G concourse Admirals Club.

Naturally, our United flight was runing two hours late, so we finally walked back to the Terminal 1 B concourse about 50 minutes before newly scheduled departure.  LOL.  "Flyer friendly" my ass.

Snack?

Multiple mechanical issues delayed the inbound such that 30-40 pax missed their connections.  Most had BPs for their new flights waiting for them on deplaning.

One of the laziest UA cabin crews in a long time. No PDB despite plenty of time and 7 open F seats.   The UA bag of pretzels.  Maybe AA and the snack basket aren't so bad after all.

Meh snack. Fruit cup was good but those bruschetta chips are nasty. Then again, I wasn't expecting anything so I guess this was a positive.

Flight attendants forgot to hand back coats in DEN. Nevertheless there was plenty of time as the DEN GA was AWOL for 10 minutes after we pulled up to the gate.

American recently completed renovations of the G Admirals Club, which serves the Eagle concourse.   Very nice improvement.  Bright and airy, great for plane watching.

Wave after wave of T-storms played havoc at ORD today.

Lots of delays including my 4+ hour late PIT flight.
