Lunch at Michelin Star Substance
Another glorious sunny Paris day and I’m off to the 16th for lunch at Michelin star Substance.
Lovely intimate, contemporary restaurant with great atmosphere and an open kitchen. Wonderful and creative dishes with excellent wine pairing recommendations. Add in attentive, friendly service and this was a delightful lunch experience.

Dinner at Michelin Star Amâlia
Dinner tonight is in the 11th at elegant Michelin star Amâlia, a wonderful new restaurant opened in 2024 by Italian chefs Cecilia Spurio and her husband Eugenio Anfuso. The result is classic French cooking an Italian influence.
Amâlia offers both traditional and vegetarian tasting menus. I’m not a vegetarian but the menu looked so interesting that I went vegetarian. It was fabulous.
OMG, the most amazing bread.
Asparagus in crust.
Handmade tagliolini.
Cacio e pepe ravioli.
Charred artichoke.
Horseradish Ice Cream.
Flawless service helped make this a wonderful dining experience.
Cool Uber looks like an Emirates ceiling.
Next stop is Le Meurice.
And Bar 228.
For a Whisky Sour.
And the short walk back to my hotel.

The good news is that my gate M23 was very close to the lounge.

The bad news is that M23 is a bus gate, and we're taking a bus to Chicago. LOL
Yeah, this is pleasant.
And this is Sky Priority bus. LOL
Ten minutes of a windy uncomfortable bus ride, we're arrived at our beautiful A359.
Very nice Business Class cabin.
Even better is my bulkhead Business Class suite.
with massive space.
Today's menu...
The chicken with morel mushroom sauce was outstanding.
After lunch, I managed to get a solid 4 hours of sleep.
Only to find the only lav for 32 passengers "crew only" which crew is in the aisles with food and beverage carts. Do better Air France.

United First Class Chicago to Denver
The last leg of this trip was a short United fight from Chicago back home to Denver. Excellent ORD Global Entry and TSA experience today especially with a dedicated and empty Terminal 1 CLEAR+ PreCheck security.
Easy train ride from Terminal 5 to Terminal 1...
And what good luck today as my gate was right beside Rick Bayless’ Tortas Frontera.
Oh yeah.

The usual United worst-in-class peasant queue for non-1K status First Class passengers.
On board, nice new A321neo.
And the usual disgraceful United dinner on a 2 hour hub-to-hub flight.
But we did arrive 20 minutes early. What a fun trip. Thanks for following along.
