Central Otago

I had to cancel my morning heli/wine tour. But by afternoon, I felt well enough to head out and explore Central Otago wine country.

Lunch stop at The Church House.

Beautiful scenery.

Still not fully recovered from Qantas, I relaxed at the Sofitel before venturing out to dinner.

Dinner was at Botswana Butchery. Great food, nice decor but terrible service.

Wines by the glass were swill but the Coravin list looked promising. 

I ordered a glass of the Church Road TOM Syrah but shockingly, no bottle presentation, no Coravin.  My server brought a glass right from the bar.   Like how do I know what you just served me.  I asked to see the bottle (for the pic) but how do I know that this is really what I ordered?

While service was not very good, food was excellent.  My Peking Duck starter.

And lamb main.
