Garuda Business Class to Jakarta
Garuda Business Class to Jakarta
With my 5 day hall pass expiring tomorrow, it’s time to head home to Denver. On this trip, my routing was determined entirely by award seat availability. I found Cathay First Class from Hong Class to JFK. Now how to get to Hong Kong to take advantage? Well via Jakarta of course. Flying Blue was offering 38,000 mile Business Class seats for the almost 8 hour flight in one on my favorite airlines Garuda Indonesia. Timing was perfect as it gave me 7 hour Jakarta connection, enough time to drive into the city for dinner.
Apparently free Filtered Drinking Water is a big deal here.
Oxymoron of the year. Economy Deluxe. LOL.
With an hour to spare, off to the SkyTeam Lounge.
And then off to the gate.
With a serious case of gate lice.
While Garuda service was excellent as always, sadly they swapped out a new A330neo to an ancient A332 with dated 2-2-2 seating. Despite the cabin and seat, this was an enjoyable flight thanks to a marvellous Garuda crew and an interesting and engaging seat mate.
Old Businees Class seat that is past its prime.
Yummy starter.
Delicious Braised Chicken Curry.
And loaded ramen.
Somewhere over Australia.
Business Class snack bar.
Welcome to Jakarta.
Thanks for my APEC card and advanced VOA, I was landside in no time. My prearranged Bluebird car/drive was a no show or at least an 40 minutes late..
So Grab to the rescue.
Welcome to crazy Jakarta traffic.
28 kilometers in 70 minutes, but plenty of time for my dinner rez.
